The clinical picture, including such information as patient’s age, hormonal interventions, and menstrual status, are often critical to the interpretation of the specimen, and yet may not be provided. There are many artifacts that interfere with interpretation as well. Nevertheless, the clinician expects a short, comprehensible report that can guide management and be explained to the patient.
This book provides the practicing pathologist with the tools to improve diagnostic accuracy of endometrial biopsy specimens, while providing insight to the clinician caring for women. By imparting an understanding of the clinical aspects, as well as the potential histopathological difficulties, it is hoped that the goal of the best patient care is achieved.
